Mentorship Style
Finding a faculty member to work with whose mentorship style compliments your needs as a mentee is just as important as the topic of your research. Many would actually say it’s even more important. Dr. Kisley meets with each of his students every other week. Lab meetings are held each month. Dr. Kisley provides support in the form of guidance on research projects and the research process more broadly, feedback on writing, including importantly the MA thesis, and professional development help as well. His students often present their work at national conferences, and some of them become authors on peer-reviewed publications.
